Ready to Transition
Castanea, a Boston-based private equity firm, is a long time client of ours. In 2018, we took them through a major brand overhaul, and couldn’t be happier with the results. Such a significant undertaking can feel intimidating, but Castanea was ready to do it the right way–strategy first. We took the time to think through who they are and what that means. We developed a sound strategy together, which then blossomed into a full design suite. The objective of all pieces is to showcase Castanea’s experienced and passionate team as well as the dynamic companies and founders that they invest in.
The Castanea website is a perfect example of how great images significantly elevate design. We were able to showcase the high-quality photography of their partner brands in a clean, modern site design. Great content and quality design come together seamlessly on the new site, greatly enhancing the overall user experience.
As a large percentage of their viewers were using mobile devices, it was critical to ensure a streamlined and easy mobile experience.

Partner Brand Highlights
The homepage includes an interactive module for Castanea to highlight some of their featured brands and lead visitors into learning more about the companies.
The expanded content on the brand portfolio and founder pages gives other business owners a sense of the passionate entrepreneurs that Castanea likes to partner with.
Logo and Branding
The previous Castanea logo represented the stability and tradition of the company but they were ready for a look that would help represent the brand in a more modern way. We used a sleek type-only treatment to attract the attention of the unique consumer brands they like to work with.
We are able to leverage the great brand photography from their portfolio companies throughout various marketing materials including these posters.
